Towards the European Initiative on Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer as well the second cause of death from cancer in Europe. Every year, there are a quarter of a million new cases diagnosed. Moreover, there are persistent differences in the survival of patients across Europe suggesting that there are health inequalities that could be reduced through coordinated European action such as ECICC.

ECICC aims to provide individuals with a quality assurance scheme developed using a person-centred approach which is based on evidence, with the objective of reducing these health inequalities through a coordinated European action.

GET INVOLVED
ECICC applies an inclusive, bottom-up approach. Feedback and cooperation with academia, patients organisations, professionals, and local institutions are vital for the development of ECICC.

ECICC National Contacts

ECICC is taken forward in close coordination with experts from the 28 EU Member States and Albania, Iceland, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey. They were asked to nominate a national contact as a focal point to represent each participating country for the duration of the project.
