Jan van der Poel
Jan van der Poel (born in 1951, The Netherlands) studied Systems and Control theory at Delft Technical University.
His career comprises amongst others technical management roles at NKF Power cable, a division of Philips at the time, for innovative high-voltage cable production lines. General export manager at Wavin Overseas, Europe’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipes, responsible for sales and delivery of know-how agreements with leading plastic pipe manufacturers around the globe, executive directorships at Holland Colours NV, a micro-multinational enterprise delivering innovative and high-tech clean colouring systems for production of plastic products, sealants and paints. The common element in these positions was a business to business professional setting, based on quality and achieving customer satisfaction.
Jan is CEO at the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) as from 2002. He focusses on improvement of customer satisfaction, new developments and transparency of the activities and results. He was personally heavily involved in achieving the merger with CCKL, the Dutch accreditation body for medical laboratories, which was implemented in 2008. Nowadays RvA is active in accreditation of conformity assessment activities in many healthcare related areas. Next to his main job at RvA, Jan is active in the European Accreditation Community as a member of the Executive Committee of EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation) from 2010 and as a member of the Board of the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) from 2011 onwards.
